Family Survey
As we end the 2020-2021 school year, we want to thank you so much for sticking through this challenging year with us. Please take a few moments between now and July 6, 2021, to share your feedback with us so that we can continue to provide a top-notch educational experience for your children and family.
Summer COVID Guidance
Based on updated guidance from the MN Dept. of Health and MDE, DaVinci Academy has adjusted our mask policy for the summer months. During the summer break, masks will be optional for individuals on-site. DaVinci will be releasing community-wide COVID guidance for the fall later this summer.
Yearbook Ordering
The DaVinci Academy yearbook for this extraordinary year can be purchased online by following the link below. The cost for each book is $27.78 and there is a shipping charge for the book to be mailed directly to your home. The link for ordering this book will be open until Sep 1, 2021.

Each year it is important for families to review School Policies as these are updated by the School Board frequently. This page will be updated throughout the summer so check back often.
Bus Registration – Deadline Extended 1 Day
**New bus stops added!**
If your students plan to ride the bus next year, you must complete the form below to secure a seat on the bus. The deadline for completing this bus stop request has been extended to the end of the day July 2. Families will be charged a $25.00 late fee per child for bus requests that come in after July 2, so get that reservation in ASAP!

Carpooling
If you are interested in carpooling with another family we can get you connected. Just fill out this form and you will be able to share your information with other families who would like to carpool as well.
Volunteer Background Checks
Are you one of our awesome DaVinci Academy volunteers? If not, would you like to volunteer with us? As appropriate for the protection of our students, volunteers who have contact with students will be asked to submit and successfully complete a background check every two years, at their own expense.
Thank you again to our wonderful volunteers! We are excited to have you back with us this coming year.
Classroom Placement Reminder
It is school policy that we do not accept parent requests for particular teachers or classmates. Teachers work very diligently to place all students in a classroom which will be beneficial to their needs and learning styles. The staff regards the annual assignment of students to classrooms to be a very important process and task. Many hours are spent weighing and considering a number of factors to create a classroom where each student can learn and thrive.
Factors considered in recommending a classroom include:
- a balance of boys and girls
- a range of academic abilities
- special needs
- social and emotional development
- learning styles
Final approval of class lists rests with the Academic Director, Terry Moffatt. Parents and students are given this information at Open House in August.
Media Release – Opt Out Option
We no longer require families to do the Back-to-School Registration each year. However, if you do NOT give your permission for your child’s image to be used in the different media, both internally and externally, you will need to complete the Media Release form to opt out. This includes, but is not limited to, articles and photographs in a school newsletter, video of a student program shown in school or published to families via an online program, a news story by local media, or something on our web site. Back to School Shopping – Uniform Policy
The purpose of the Uniform Policy is to minimize distraction and focus students’ attention on their work at school rather than their attire, and to project a unified school image, which is proper and neat in appearance, reflecting the important work of the school. The dress code is also a means to support and promote the mission and vision of the school.
Please note that pants should be chino, Dockers, or Cargo style pants with a fitted or elastic waist. Denim jeans, black jeans, sweatpants or athletic style pants, leggings, or jeggings are all not allowed. Sweatshirts and sweaters must be in solid uniform colors without logos (DaVinci logo is acceptable). Student polo shirts should also be worn tucked in.

Uniform attire can be purchased at any major retail store. If you would like to purchase uniform shirts that include the school logo – which is completely optional – you may shop at Lands’ End. Just search for DaVinci Academy in the school section.
**If you have gently used uniform items that your child has outgrown, bring them to school before the open house in August and we will include them in the uniform swap.**

Kindergarten Family Conferences
Our amazing Kindergarten teachers will be contacting all families to schedule in-person conferences which will take place in August. Families and students will have a chance to see the classroom, drop off school supplies and meet with their teacher to discuss the upcoming year.
Parent Communication
New Campus Portal Payment Processing Vendor
Dear Parent,
On March 8, 2021, Infinite Campus (our parent portal) announced it was switching payment processors for all online payment functions in the Campus Portal. We chose to make the switch on 6/25/2021. This change has minimal impact to you; however, any payment methods you’ve set up for your credit cards or eCheck accounts were deleted to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data. Due to this switch, you will be asked to enter your payment methods into the Parent Portal.
Any recurring payments you may have set up (if you intend to continue making payments this way), will also need to be updated to use the new payment methods you create. There are no other changes in the way you will experience online payments. The instructions below will walk you through the process of setting up your payment methods and updating you recurring payments.
This change will improve financial reporting efficiency for the district, as well as the support experienced by district staff when researching reported issues.
