Session 4- After School Clubs & Activities

Registrations for session 4 of extra-curricular classes is now OPEN. Due to low numbers the Registration deadline has been extended to midnight Friday, March 1.   DaVinci Den families will need to have their registration in by the end of the day on Thursday so that Ms. Kresh can plan for her program.

Please register for classes offered by DaVinci Academy teachers using the button below and pay the office by check or cash for the class.  You can print your confirmation receipt and attach it to class payment.  If you do not receive a confirmation email please contact Holly Fischer at hfischer@davincicharterschool.org to make sure you are, indeed, registered.

Classes offered by external vendors will need to be registered for and paid for through them.  Links are available from each vendor.  The only OFF SITE external vendor class is Taekwondo.  All other classes are offered here.

Description: Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Description: Student pilots will be introduced to drones and learn the fundamentals of flight with an emphasis on safety, control, aerial videography and fun! Every student will have flight time and classroom learning, and train using obstacle courses, team challenges, and recording video to share with family and friends. Each student even received a mini-drone to train and fly at home! Sean Stevens is an FAA licensed unmanned aerial vehicle pilot and enjoys teaching and coaching kids.

Description: Learn to code with Afterschool Enrichment Solutions! Both new and returning participants are welcome. This course will immerse students in the world of computer programming. Your child will have the opportunity to design games, explore animation, and combine music and art with coding. This class uses the block-based programming system Scratch, which was developed by the MIT Media Lab to teach programming concepts. Topics covered include event handling, coordinates, conditional statements, user interface design, variables, logic statements, and synchronization. In addition to teaching programming skills, this course will also nurture students’ creativity and problem-solving skills. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and have gigabytes of fun! Each participant will receive an award on the last day of the session, and will have the opportunity to earn Code Belts by demonstrating their learned skills!

Make Up Classes for Session 3

There have been 8 snow days this winter and 1 day when we had to cancel after school activities.   So, we will need to make those classes up.  The make up days will be offered on the same day of the week that the class is currently scheduled.  Here is what that schedule looks like:

Monday Classes – Make up day on Monday, February 25

Tuesday Classes – Make up days on Tuesday, February 26 and Tuesday, March 5

Wednesday Classes – Make up day on Wednesday, February 27

Thursday Classes – Make up days on Thursday, February 21 and Thursday, February 28

Friday Classes – Make up days on Friday, February 22

If these dates conflict with your schedule (for example play practice has now started for your child), please contact Brenda Gerard in the office and she can refund your money for a missed class.

Session 4 Extra curricular classes are now open for classes starting March 18-May 3.  The deadline for these classes is midnight on Wednesday, February 20th so please sign up for classes as soon as possible.

Ski Club

Eight Friday nights at Trollhaugen for 6th-8th graders, 5th if parent skis along.

  • January 4, 11, 18, 25
  • February 1, 8, 15, 22

The bus will leave DaVinci Academy at 2:30 p.m. and return to DaVinci Academy at 9:00-9:15 p.m.

**Skis are not permitted on the Kottke’s buses so if your child has equipment you will need to transport it.
