Please register for classes offered by DaVinci Academy faculty and staff using the buttons below and pay the front office by check or cash.  You can print your confirmation receipt and attach it to the payment.  If you do not receive a confirmation email please contact Julie Kresh at jkresh@davincicharterschool.org to make sure you are, indeed, registered.

Classes offered by external vendors will need to be registered for and paid for through them. The only OFF SITE external vendor class is Taekwondo.  All other classes are offered at DaVinci Academy.

Description: This after school program is designed to create a fun, safe, and non-competitive experience where students will work to:

  • -Expand their ability to overcome challenges through breathing techniques, compassion, and positive attitude.

Description: Run Club is a fun way for students to get outside and enjoy moving through running. Students will train for both the DaVinci Color Run and the Gray Ghost Fun Run in Anoka. Go have FUN, and RUN!! Join former Bethel University Cross Country runners Ms. Hatton and Ms. Whitsell, as well as Wisconsin’s own running queen Ms. Nguyen and rip up the road in Run Club.

Description: Destination Imagination is a project-based learning program. There are Team Challenges—Technical, Scientific, Engineering, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Service Learning and Early Learning—that encourage students to explore their passions, discover their unique talents and abilities, and learn new skills. We work on those challenges for about 5 months before our regional competition. Teams also participate in Instant Challenges—quick creative and critical thinking exercises that build teamwork and problem solving abilities.

Description: Future City is a project-based learning program where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, research, design, and build cities that could exist in 100 years in the future. This is the 3rd year DaVinci participates in the national competition. We write an essay, create a city in SimCity, prepare a presentation, and make a city model to incorporate a solution to a design challenge that changes each year. This year’s challenge, Clean Water: Tap Into Tomorrow, asks participants to identify a threat to their future city’s water supply and design a resilient system to ensure a reliable supply of clean drinking water. In January, students will present their cities before a panel of judges at Regional Competitions.

 

Note: Future City will also have additional meetings during Session 2 to prepare for the competition on Saturday, January 18. Be sure to register for Future City Session 2 when it opens and save the date for the competition.

Ski Club

Eight Friday nights at Trollhaugen for 6th-8th graders, 5th if parent skis along.

  • January 4, 11, 18, 25
  • February 1, 8, 15, 22

The bus will leave DaVinci Academy at 2:30 p.m. and return to DaVinci Academy at 9:00-9:15 p.m.

**Skis are not permitted on the Kottke’s buses so if your child has equipment you will need to transport it.
