A Visit and a Tweet from Dr. Cassellius, Minnesota Commissioner of Education

A Reason to Celebrate!

Recognized as a Reward School for 5 years in a row, one of only 4 charter schools to do so, yesterday we were visited by Dr. Cassellius, Minnesota Commissioner of Education. We had the opportunity to demonstrate to the Commissioner what makes DaVinci Academy special: our students, teachers and staff. Dr. Cassellius was apparently impressed!

We also recently learned that the Commissioner nominated DaVinci Academy as a National Blue Ribbon School! The Commissioner can only nominate eight Minnesota schools, and we are one of those she nominated to apply this year. In 2015, out of the 335 Blue Ribbon Schools nationwide, only 15 were charter schools.

Congratulations to our students, staff, parents and community!

National Blue Ribbon Schools are public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools that are producing outstanding results for all students. They have demonstrated consistent excellence, and made progress in closing gaps in student achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition program is part of a larger U.S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about effective school leadership and promising instructional practices.
