Cindi Gjerde joined the DaVinci Academy staff as a Special Education teacher for the 2016-17 school year.
Cynthia Gjerde has been teaching special education for more than 7 years. She earned her degrees at Anoka - Ramsey Community College (Coon Rapids Campus) and St. Cloud State University. Mrs. Gjerde has worked in a variety of programs in the Twin Cities area including Spring Lake Park Schools, Big Lake Public Schools, and Cambridge-Isanti Public Schools. She has a license in Specific Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders.
Mrs. Gjerde has been married for 24 years. She is the proud parent of two boys who are now grown and have careers. Mrs. Gjerde's oldest son has Autism, she understands the world of special education from both sides of the table. She is able to help parents cope with the challenges of raising a special needs child from a parent's perspective. Mrs. Gjerde's youngest son is a chef at Bricks Restaurant in Blaine.
Ms. Gjerde believes that all students can succeed with the positive support of the adults in their environment.
