NEED TO KNOW

There is always always something to be thankful forA Parking Lot Full of Thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches, the parking lot staff would like to express our gratitude to the families who help make our pick up and drop off times safe and joy filled.
Thank you to the drivers who:
  • Leave for school early so they are not rushed and impatient.
  • Follow the car line and drop their children off on the curb and not in the middle of the parking lot to walk through vehicles – The parking lot really runs smoothly when there are fewer cars moving in and out of spots.
  • Use turn signals in the lot so that drivers behind them know what they are doing.
  • Safely take a right out of the parking lot.
  • Do not pull into neighbor’s driveways to turn around.
  • Take turns and are courteous.
  • Stay off their phones while driving through the lot.
  • Display their family number clearly for dismissal.
  • Download the Silent Dismissal app and dismiss their children from their car.
  • And, smile and wave to the people who are working hard to keep everyone safe in the parking lot.
You are appreciated!

Lost and Found – Emptied Next Week

In the 15 minutes we were outside for afternoon car line, 3 articles of clothing were dropped on the sidewalk and 10 more pieces were dropped in the hallways. PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING.
If your child is missing something, come in to the school to check out the lost and found. All discarded items will be donated Wednesday of next week.

Report Cards- Infinite Campus

Report cards will be mailed out next week.  Please make sure your information in Infinite Campus is up to date.  Don’t want to wait for the mailing?  You can view your child’s grades on your parent campus.  Can’t remember your username or password? Click the links on the screen or call the office at 763-754-6577.

Here are two documents that can help you navigate Infinite Campus.

Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities start Monday, December 2.  Please remember to set your child’s Silent Dismissal accordingly.

High School Planning

As we are nearing the end of the first trimester, we know that a lot of parents of our eighth graders are starting to think about high school.  Very few school districts offer open enrollment, but for those that do, the deadline to submit applications is between December 1 and January 31.  This includes the application process for the CEMS program at Blaine High School.  If you are interested in continuing at a charter school, there are a few options but most involve some travel time.
If you would like to know more about specific programs or schools or just want to discuss what might be best for your child, please feel free to contact either Terry Moffatt or Melissa Derby.

Full or Part time School Nurse Needed

We are in need of a school nurse.   This has previously been a full time position, but it could be shared with another person as a part time position.  If you know of any nurses who would be a good fit for our students please ask them to check out our employment page.

PTO News

Book Donations Needed

The PTO is hosting a Family Bingo Night February 7th.  Since February is love to read month, we thought it would be a great idea for books to be part of the bingo prizes.  If you would like to donate new or gently used books, please make arrangements with Nicole Hartfield to drop them off at school by Friday, January 24.
