Dollars for DaVinci

Dollars for DaVinci runs now until May 6, 2022. The DaVinci community raised over $20,000 in 2021!  Our goal this year is to surpass last year’s donations and raise $30,000. All grade levels K-8 have the opportunity to help raise money to improve our indoor/outdoor spaces and enhance learning experiences for our students. We encourage families to get kids involved and have kids help earn money to donate by doing extra chores, helping neighbors, and asking family and friends for donations.

**Note** Each grade level has a target dollar amount to raise.  If all classes reach that goal, we will bring in a dunk tank and Ms. Zender and Mr. Shields will be dunked by the students who bring in the most money.

Donations can be made electronically here: Dollars for DaVinci

Yearbook Pre-Orders

Yearbooks will arrive the last few weeks of school. Orders can be placed in your Infinite Campus account starting today! Ordering will close on Sunday, April 24. Don’t miss the opportunity to treasure the names, faces, and events that made this year so special for your child.

Upcoming Events at DaVinci

The week of May 2-6 is going to be a big week at DaVinci Academy.

We are celebrating Children’s Book Week with a Book Fair and a Literacy Night that is open to families on Thursday May 5 at 5:00 PM., the DaVinci Student Talent Show is on Thursday, May 5 at 6:00 PM, and we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week by showing gratitude to THE ENTIRE DAVINCI STAFF.

We are looking for parent participation in the following ways to make this week special.

1. Food items and volunteers for a whole staff breakfast on Tuesday, May 3.
2. Food items and volunteers for a whole staff lunch on Friday, May 6.
3. Donation items for Staff Relaxation Space Updates.
In addition to these school sponsored events, the PTO will be planning some staff surprises for that week as well. There are many ways for families to participate in these fun community building opportunities. Sign up here to help out!

Book Fair

DaVinci Academy has an exciting new opportunity for our spring book fair! This year, we are partnering with the Red Balloon Bookshop. Red Balloon has been providing books for children in the St. Paul community since 1984. Red Balloon will give a portion of the proceeds from the book fair back to DaVinci to purchase books for our school library. We can earn up to 25% of our sales back for our library!

We will be hosting an in-person fair May 2-May 6 as well as an online fair. This book fair is unique in that our students will get to pick books that they’d like to see sold at the book fair! Teachers will also have the opportunity to make an online wish list for their classroom.

May 2-May 6 is also teacher & staff appreciation week, and books make great gifts!

Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to May 2nd.

Support Space

Hello DaVinci Community!

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Like most parents, you may know it’s important to talk with your child about how to stay safe, but may not be sure how to approach the topic of abuse. Here’s a really helpful site to equip you for these conversations,

https://www.cfchildren.org/resources/child-abuse-prevention/. This Committee for Children resource includes a how-to guide of helpful language to use in conversations around this topic, including “what to say at every age” and “know the signs”.

Talking about child abuse is the best way to prevent it. You can build these conversations into everyday moments to create trust, warmth and comfort around a serious topic. Just like any safety topic you discuss at home, you can teach your child age-appropriate body safety rules.

Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns or are in need of additional support. If your family is faced with new or ongoing needs and challenges throughout this time, please let us know by filling out this survey  and someone from our team will reach out to further assist your family!

Mindfully Yours,
